in the guise of luxury.

We have a pretty nice kitchen at my job. Multiple microwaves, toaster, coffee machine, ice machine, dishwasher, garbage disposal. Large refrigerators and freezers with room enough for everyone’s food brought from home. Big screen TV. An endless supply of paper plates and flatware (biodegradable).

While that seems like a nice gesture, what it’s really saying is, “We expect you to be here all the time. There’s no need for you to go home and eat. You can just stay here and keep working.”
